Marc Robinson has successfully completed the pre-employment training programme and now holds a position at Nissan. Marc worked for a company for over 25 years but due to the economy, he was made redundant. His decision to complete the pre-employment training after 2 years of being unemployed, has paid off and is ready for a successful career within Nissan.

Marc was out of work for nearly two years before he secured a temporary position at Nissan.

He worked for a company for 25 years, but was then made redundant and was finding it very difficult to find a new job. As a single parent he needed fixed working hours and this contributed to his not being able to get a job.

Marc did his training at the Green Collar Training Centre at the Nissan plant and said it was: "Definitely beneficial. The training that I did was interesting, fun and very necessary. The numeracy and literacy tests will help me in the future when applying for jobs as well as making me more employable. Doing these tests helped to train and re-activate my mind a little."

"Green Collar was a brilliant agency to work for," he said, "I found the staff very easy to get along with and was made welcome at all times."

Although Marc has only been in work for a short while his life has picked up. He can now afford to go out and socialise with friends and to treat his child to that little bit extra.

"I now have a reason to get out of bed in the morning. The single biggest advantage is that I now have my confidence back." Marc is now looking forward to gaining a permanent position at the plant and pursuing a successful career at Nissan.
