Paul Robson Gives PV Keynote Speech
20 May 2010 12:12pm
Paul Robson, MD of Green Collar Futures, is to address the Renewable Energy Association’s Solar PV Forum in the City of London on 25th May 2010.
The Association has stated that “Following the introduction on 1st April
2010 of a Feed-in-Tariff (FiT), PV is forecast to grow into a billion
pound UK market by the end of the decade”. In order to make this a
reality, employers will need a supply of appropriately skilled labour.
Green Collar Futures is responding rapidly to meet these needs.
Green
Collar Futures has already opened its first PV training centre. Based
in Consett, the centre is being developed in partnership with Romag, a
leading manufacturer of PV roofing products. A new training curriculum
for PV installers has been developed for the partners by Gateshead
College. Unemployed local people are being recruited to the scheme, and
trained with the support of Jobcentre Plus.
“Green Collar Futures
is looking to set up a network of between six and ten similar PV
training centres across England over the next 12 months”, said Paul
Robson, “Negotiations have already started with key employers and the
outlook is very positive and encouraging.”
